We recently partnered with a financial sector client in Australia and New Zealand to transform their outdated, on-premises SQL Server VM-based analytics platform into a scalable, cloud-based solution. Built on Snowflake and Data Vault 2.0, the new platform enhanced scalability, improved data quality, and unlocked greater business value, setting the client up for future growth and seamless integration.
In this video, our Practice Manager Steve Rose discusses this case study in detail. Watch the video or scroll down for a summary of the key points.
Our primary objectives for this project were:
The client's existing platform was bogged down by complexity and legacy architecture. Over the years, it had grown tactically rather than strategically, resulting in low data quality, limited scalability, and a platform that could no longer meet the business's evolving needs.
We took a structured, phased approach:
To optimise the platform, we leveraged our Launchpad solution—a templated, metadata-driven framework that accelerates data ingestion and automation. Key technologies included:
The revamped platform not only addressed the client's legacy issues but also set the stage for future growth. Launchpad enabled faster time-to-value, improved data governance, and the flexibility to scale as business demands evolve. Additionally, the new architecture supported a seamless migration when the client acquired another financial book, demonstrating its versatility and reusability.
