When RESIMAC, a leading non-bank lender operating across Australia and New Zealand, set out to modernise its data platform, the team selected Data Vault as their modelling methodology. While a powerful and scalable approach, adopting Data Vault for the first time can be challenging — particularly under time pressure and with internal teams still developing their skills. To reduce complexity and accelerate delivery, RESIMAC used IRiS, a Data Vault automation tool developed by the experts at Ignition.
According to Steven Mellare, Head of Data and Architecture at RESIMAC, IRiS played a key role in helping the team adopt a clear, repeatable framework. “Data Vault can be quite intimidating,” he said. “IRiS made it fast, scalable and relatively easy to configure. It would have been a lot more daunting without it.”
IRiS streamlines the delivery of Data Vault architectures on cloud platforms by eliminating manual scripting and automating code generation. It’s easy to use, works seamlessly with existing tools, and integrates cleanly into modern cloud-native environments.
RESIMAC needed the flexibility to combine Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics and Delta tables — and required a Data Vault automation solution that would fit seamlessly into this diverse ecosystem. Unlike many other tools, IRiS works with any environment. There’s no need for retooling or replatforming, making it easy to scale and standardise Data Vault delivery across complex data stacks.
IRiS also supported RESIMAC’s goal of internal enablement. With an intuitive interface and supporting training, playbooks and support, it helped the engineering team get hands-on quickly and contribute with confidence — without creating long-term reliance on external support.
